CineVeam - Book-Light Style Fixtures

If you shoot interviews, commercials, narrative work or portraits and spend a lot of time chasing flattering light on skin, the CineVeam range, available here at Production Gear, is worth checking out.

The idea behind the range is simple. Most soft sources diffuse a single point of light, and that can leave a visible hotspot, harder shadow transitions and slightly artificial reflections on the skin. CineVeam fixtures work more like a traditional book light, where light is bounced and spread across the whole diffusion surface instead of pushed through it. That gives softer wrap, smoother falloff and more natural shadow behaviour, without the usual hotspot.

The other draw is practicality. The fixtures unfold quickly into a large illuminated surface and pack down compactly for transport, so you get a big soft source without the setup time or space a traditional book light usually needs.

There are three ranges to choose from, so here’s how they compare.

Three Ranges, One Design
All three CineVeam ranges share the same fixture design and soft-light character. They differ in colour engine, control options and kit contents.

  • The Creator series is a streamlined bi-colour option (2700K–6500K) aimed at owner-operators, content creators and independent filmmakers. It’s controlled via Bluetooth app and comes with a monocolour display and a soft case.
  • The Studio series keeps the same bi-colour engine and CCT range but adds DMX and CRMX control, a full-colour display and an IP54 rating. It suits commercial work, studio environments and multi-light setups.
  • The Professional series moves to an RGBWW light engine covering 1800K–20000K, with G/M adjustment, DMX, CRMX, Bluetooth app control, IP54 and a wheeled hard case. It also includes the heavy diffuser, 1/4 grid diffuser and 20° grid as standard, plus a 7m extension cable.

Across the range, you get fire-retardant fabrics, a standard diffuser, a 40° grid, skirts (for the lantern fixtures) and a 3m extension cable. Every model runs from two 14.8V V-lock batteries.
